The Helene selvedge jeans are a traditional high waist non-stretch jeans pattern and is available in two separate size ranges: 00-22 (hip 34”-51”) and 14-32 (hip 43”-61”). This pattern is based on heritage denim jeans from the 1930’s-1960’s. It has traditional 5 pocket styling including two front scoop pockets, a coin pocket inside the right front pocket, and two pointed patch pockets on the back. It also features slight hip shaping while keeping the side selvedge seams unaltered from hip to hem. It has a V-shaped back yoke and a traditional straight waistband with belt loops. The instructions include how to install a concealed button fly and a zipper fly. The leg styles included in this pattern are as follows: View A - Straight, View B - Slim Straight, View C - Wide, and View D - Shorts. Inseam length options include: 28”, 30”, 32”, 34” and 3.5”, 5.5” shorts. This pattern is drafted for non-stretch denim.
NOTES ON SIZE RANGE:
There are slight differences between the 00-22 and 14-32 pattern drafts. The extended range has more room in the seat as well as a curved back yoke, while the 00-22 range has a straight back yoke.

PRINTING YOUR PDF PATTERN
Download the zip file to your computer. Extract the zip file and open the print-at-home PDF files in Adobe Reader for printing at home. Make sure you uncheck the “save ink/toner” setting, otherwise the lines may not print correctly. Print at 100%, no scaling.
This pattern includes Layers, which means you can “turn on” the sizes you wish to print and “turn off” the sizes you don’t need. If you have never used layers before, open the pdf pattern file in Adobe Reader and expand the menu on the left side of the page. Click on the Layers icon. You should see a list of sizes. By default, all sizes are “turned on.” Deselect any sizes you don’t wish to print.
Print the first page that includes the 2”/4 cm square and check to make sure the square has printed accurately with no scaling. Once you have printed the pages, trim off the outer border and assemble the pattern by numbers. The pages print out from left to right, top to bottom. Match the pattern pieces together as closely as possible, taping the pages as you assemble the pattern.
NOTE: If printing at a copy shop, I have not had good success using the self service printing machines. Instead, please ask at the counter for the staff to open the file in Adobe Reader and print it. Let them know it should be printed “AS IS” or 100% (no scaling) and using black and white ink.
